Athens, July 7 2005 – OTEGlobe has signed a deal with Turk Telekom (Turkish Telecommunications Authority) to link the neighboring country with Western Europe and the US. This is the second agreement between the two companies, under which OTEGlobe will provide 20Gbps bandwidth capacity (8xSTM-16), and extent the current international bandwidth supply to Turk Telekom up to 25 Gpbs (10xSTM16).
It is one of the biggest European telecommunications projects and certainly the biggest project in terms of both telecom infrastructure and value for the broader region.
This deal marks another major milestone for OTEGlobe towards accomplishing its goal of evolving Greece into a regional Telecommunications hub and OTE the leading pan-regional carrier.
