Turk Telekom, the Turkish incumbent, more than doubled the capacity provided by OTEGLOBE, the international wholesale arm of OTE Group (the Greek incumbent), for satisfying its increasing needs for connectivity to the International Internet Exchanges.
More specifically from around 100Gbps that OTEGLOBE provided to Turk Telekom, the capacity is upgraded to 250Gbps through its international fiber optic private networks TBN & GWEN, which interconnect Greece with Europe through the Balkans and Italy accordingly.
With this upgrade OTEGLOBE continues to cover 1/3 of the Turkish incumbent’s capacity needs, for international telecommunication traffic coming from the Turkish market and the neighboring countries.
The new commercial Agreement between the two companies, is a result of M. East’s and Eurasia’s increasing demand for international capacities, and the provisioning of qualitative an high availability services by OTEGLOBE during its long-term and close cooperation with Turk Telekom.
"It is very important when a new customer chooses to work with you, but it is even more significant when you are chosen again by an existing partner. We thank you for this,” states Mr. Dino Andreou, OTEGLOBE’s CEO. «This agreement comes to reward our devotion to the provisioning of qualitative services, and also gives us a clear message to reinforce our efforts towards implementing our strategy for becoming an important regional hub in the Mediterranean".
“We receive the results of investments we make in our technology infrastructure and products, in order to offer more value-added products and services, not only in Turkey, but also in the international arena. Having a reliable and robust network all over Turkey, Turk Telekom is becoming a hub between Europe and Asia for telecommunication services. Together with Pantel’s (Invitel International) network in Europe and thanks to the quality and reliability of OTEGLOBE’s services, additional value will be added to Turk Telekom’s connectivity towards Western Europe.” states Mr. K. Gokhan Bozkurt, CEO of Turk Telekom.
