OTEGLOBE announces the launch of its new Transbalkan Network (TBN). TBN is OTEGLOBE’s second, multi-wavelength, fiber optic network, and constitutes a strategic investment which underlies OTEGLOBE’s commitment to efficiently covering the constantly increasing broadband needs of Southern-Eastern Europe.
The Transbalkan Network stretches from Greece, across the Balkans’ region and Central Europe, to Frankfurt, with connectivity of 34 Mbps to 10 Gbps, while it will be continuously upgraded with the addition of alternative physical routes and more advanced services. It is a fully terrestrial Network and the only one in Greece which connects Middle East with Europe through the Balkans.
OTEGLOBE’s new Network, aims to provide an alternative route to Western Europe, complimentary to the existing GWEN infrastructure, which also connects Greece with Western Europe through Italy. Those two different network paths, guarantee end to end high capacity services to our clientele, since both GWEN & TBN networks apart from operating independently, they operate complementary one to another as a back up, if needed.
OTEGLOBE’s owned networks, TBN and GWEN, constitute OTE Group’s broadband vehicle in the broader SE Europe.“By capitalizing on our geographic position, we aim to become the Network bridge, connecting Middle East with Western Europe through the Balkans, while at the same time covering the high broadband needs both of our country and the broader region.
Through the multi-wavelength Capacity and path diversity offered by TBN & GWEN Network, OTEGLOBE maintains one of the strongest network infrastructures in SE Europe, which can be employed by fixed and mobile operators and ISPs, who seek to cover the constantly evolving capacity needs of their customers at the highest possible quality of services.
In conclusion, the basic characteristics of the new Transbalkan Network are: fully terrestrial network, providing an alternative route to Western Europe, complimentary to the existing GWEN infrastructure, Interconnection with OTEGLOBE’s MSP (Multi-Services-Platform) network and GWEN, high reliability, competitive prices due to the fully owned networks, service continuity through proactive network monitoring and support on a 24*7*365 basis.
